Now that’s Grassroots…Right?

pelosi_turfAfter being labeled “Astroturf” by House Speaker Pelosi, many members of the Tea Party movement, me included have been checking the mail every day for that paycheck implied in the comment.  Maybe “Big Insurance”

got my address wrong or Freedom Works is still waiting for me to fill out my employment tax forms.  I could use that check considering all I have spent over the last year in gas, tea bags, poster board and so much more while both attending and organizing Tea Parties throughout the state. As usual the left is again accusing falsely a group for doing exactly what they are doing.  A group calling themselves “Grassroots Campaigns” was spotted yesterday all over Craig’s List’s employment section recruiting paid activist in a number of major markets.  Here is the text from the listing is below.  Read it and ask your self if this sounds a little more like Astroturf to you:

We're hiring Directors to run 32 Canvass Offices across the United States.

Qualified candidates are:

  • Committed to and motivated by progressive politics and social change.
  • Leaders, with the ability to think strategically and motivate a team.
  • Goal-oriented, excellent communicators, team players.
  • Experience in hiring, training and supervising staff or volunteers is preferred. Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus.

    Job Description:

  • Recruitment: Build a team of 15-50 canvassers by recruiting from within the local community and developing your strongest staff into leadership positions within the office and in the field.

  • Canvassing: Get on the Frontlines of some of the most crucial campaigns of our time! Work on the ground bringing progressive change to America!

  • Hours: 80-100 hours/week

  • Locations:
    Grassroots Campaigns is immediately hiring in Chicago as well as the following locations: CA, CO, DC, IL, MA, MN, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, WA.
