COLUMBUS— State Senator Tim Grendell (R- Chesterland) reacted to Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray’s statement that the healthcare lawsuit by fellow state attorney generals had no constitutional merit by saying:
“It is most unfortunate for Ohio that Attorney General Cordray is no longer acting as the lawyer for the people of Ohio. Instead he now acts as a federal judge who is unilaterally passing judgment on the constitutionality of the abusive federal healthcare bill, instead of le...

Call Columbus Today about SR 165
Common Sense and Columbus seem to have only 1 thing in common – the letter “C”. Unlike in Washington, where high profile bills like “Cap & Trade” and “National Healthcare Reform” dominate the legislative landscape with their sweeping takeover of massive swaths of the private sector, our individual rights and our pocket books, Columbus is getting far less attention.
The reality is small, less – dare I say – “sexy” legislation is attempting to do the same thing on a lesser scale here in Ohio. Efforts to centralize control in Columbus and in the form of Regional Groups merging multi-city and multi-county governments under new associations are just as much a threat to our rights and our pocket books.
New legislation in the area of private drilling of oil & natural gas, sure doesn’t sound that exciting, however, it affects tens of thousands of property owners here in Ohio. While you may think of this as a real issue, new regulations being drafted in the Ohio’s Republican led Senate sadly will take away more rights of the owners of the property where these resources are while expanding and centralizing regulatory control in Columbus. SB 165 is up for a vote in the Senate Environmental Committee with 8 pending amendments that would stop unnecessary regulations, save money, protect private property rights and keep local governmental control.
Many of you remember State Senator Grendell of Ohio’s 18th district from his countless appearances on the Matt Patrick show as well as at local Tea Parties, including our big bash this summer in Cuyahoga Falls. He has lead the charge to pass a State Sovereignty bill here in Ohio and is a champion of smaller, localized governmental structure here in the Buckeye State. Senator Grendell is a true believer of our original Constitutional form of government and a true patriot who has lent both his voice and hundreds of hours of his own time to our movement. Now he needs you to help yourself.
Communication from Senator Grendell’s Office:
SB 165, Senator Niehaus’ bill is up for a possible vote and amendments this coming Wednesday in the Environmental Committee. Below is a list of the amendments submitted by Senator Grendell to SB 165. We have worked with NEOGAP to put these amendments together. Although they are all very important #1 and # 8 would be extremely helpful to have made into law. # 1 would no longer allow the companies to take peoples land for the purpose of drilling and # 8 would certainly bring local control to the people
